Digital Inclusion

We joined the Digi partnership programme in September 2022, a partnership that brings together 7 community sector organisations across the county and Gloucestershire County Council to address digital exclusion. To learn more about the Digi partnership programme click here

We know that accessing the digital world can be a barrier for people wanting to connect within their communities in various ways. For that reason, we are committed to creating opportunities and connections that prevent digital exclusion and make a positive impact on the lives of those who live in Gloucester. Our strengths-based approach focuses on building connections and empowering individuals to take ownership of their digital experiences.

We are promoting digital literacy by tapping into the strengths and assets of the community. Rather than setting up a service, we are working with communities to help them develop their own digital hubs so that they can, in turn, support others in their community in a sustainable way.

Nat is our Digital Community Builder, and her role is crucial in bringing our project to life. Nat is supporting our experienced community builders throughout Gloucester, taking note of when people in communities show interest in digital topics, empowering them to take charge and act on what is important to them. As we move forward with our project, Nat will be instrumental in supporting community organisations to be more digitally aware and help them give the best support possible to people living in Gloucester.

Nat helps organise regular and tailored digital drop-in sessions in local community spaces, offering support, advice and help for those with their devices in order to improve people’s digital skills.

We work in particular with older residents to provide the skills, confidence and support to reduce digital exclusion and ensure people are connected.

We currently have digital drop-ins in:

·       Elmbridge (Lonsdale Methodist Church) - Every Monday except the first Monday of each month: 10am - 12

·       Linden (Chatty Café) – First Monday of the month:  11am - 12

·       Linden (City Church) – Every Tuesday: 10:30 – 12
