Neighbourhood Fund

Launched in January 2021, the Neighbourhood fund has been extended over 2024.
We can offer small pots of funding which has now increased from £250 to up to £500 to help residents of Gloucester to try out their idea in the community.

It could be to get something completely new up and running or could be to give a little boost to an existing club or group in your local area.

The funding is aimed at creating a positive impact on a group of people or wider community/neighbourhood. Supporting people to connect, enable them to be more physically active and improve peoples wellbeing.

Funded projects

Over 20 groups showed interest in the Neighbourhood Fund, launching a range of resident-led projects across Gloucester, engaging over 300 residents to connect and highlight local skills, passions and interests that otherwise would still be dormant.

Various funding secured went towards;

  • Street connect parties,

  • Allotment initiatives,

  • Community forest school project,

  • Community walking trails,

  • Neighbourhood garden tours,

  • Christmas light trail,

  • Pumpkin trails,

  • Healthy eating programme,

  • Community garden clean up.

Get Involved

Do you have an idea that can make life better for everyone where you live?

It could be around sports, craft, gardening, gatherings or so much more…

The Gloucester Neighbourhood Fund, linked with Active Gloucestershire’s “We Can Move” campaign and KingFisher Treasure Seekers, is available if you need a small amount of funding to try out your idea in your community.

The small pots of funding should help improve people’s wellbeing, encourage people to stay connected and keep people physically active.
